Point of View – Exclusive Safari Retreat in the Namibian Highlands
Just 11 km from our main farmhouse, Point of View is a secluded, high-end retreat set in a private wilderness area of Düsternbrook.
Here, space, silence and vast open landscapes define your stay.
With only three luxury suites, Point of View offers an intentionally intimate experience — personal, unhurried and far removed from the ordinary.
Wake up to golden sunrises over the highlands, and end your day with unforgettable sunsets from your private terrace or our scenic viewpoint.
Limited. Personal. Exceptional.
Point of View is designed for guests seeking more than just accommodation — it is a micro-safari experience with a strong sense of privacy and place.
– Only three exclusive suites
– Individual, attentive service
– A separate wildlife area with its own character
– Carefully curated activities with a premium feel
Availability is limited — and that is exactly what makes it special.
Luxury Suites with Panoramic Views
Each of the three spacious suites is positioned to face north, capturing the best natural light throughout the day and offering uninterrupted views across untouched bush savannah.
Suite Features:
– 42 m² interior space with panoramic views
– King-size bed (203 × 182 cm) with separate mattresses
– 15 m² bathroom with walk-in shower, double basins and separate toilet
– 28 m² private terrace, partially shaded
– Infinity pool (8 × 4 m) overlooking the landscape
– Wi-Fi in suites and main building
– 220 V solar-powered electricity (24/7)
The Main Lodge – Relaxed Elegance
The central lodge combines rustic charm with contemporary comfort. A distinctive thatched roof with a curved ridge creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.
– Fireplace with cosy lounge area
– Large dining table for shared meals
– Bar area
– Viewing deck overlooking the waterhole
This is where guests come together — or simply enjoy the quiet in between experiences.
Dining – Fresh, Local, and Thoughtfully Prepared
Our kitchen offers high-quality, multi-course meals inspired by Namibian flavours.
The menu includes a selection of game, beef, Atlantic fish, lamb and vegetarian options.
We are happy to accommodate dietary preferences where possible.
Dining at Point of View is relaxed, personal and unhurried — often accompanied by the sounds of nature and the soft light of the setting sun.
Signature Safari Experiences at Point of View
The landscape around Point of View offers a more exclusive and immersive wildlife experience — including our nearby dam, home to resident hippos.
Premium Game Drive Experience
Rather than offering standard drives, we focus on a more refined and flexible safari experience.
Morning Experience (recommended):
– Coffee, tea and a light snack before departure
– Scenic drive towards a sunrise viewpoint in the mountains
– Extended game drive through diverse landscapes
– Possibility to see hippos at the dam
– Return for a late, relaxed breakfast
Afternoon / Sundowner Experience:
– Late afternoon departure
– Wildlife viewing in soft evening light
– Sundowner stop on a scenic mountain viewpoint with table and seating
– Return after sunset
Wildlife may include giraffe, kudu, oryx, impala, springbok, warthog, Hartmann’s mountain zebra and, with some luck, eland or waterbuck.
These drives are intentionally more personal, more scenic and less rushed than typical safari formats.
Hiking & Nature
Three marked hiking trails of varying length allow you to explore the landscape at your own pace.
A highlight is the walk to the Katrin Dam, where you can often observe hippos — and take a quiet break on the dam wall, simply taking in the surroundings.
Flexibility & Additional Activities
While Point of View offers a distinct and private experience, guests can easily combine their stay with activities at the main lodge:
– Horse riding (for all levels)
– Classic game drives
– Light lunch at the main house to experience the historic farm atmosphere
– Self-drive exploration on the road to the main farmhouse and back passing a nearby waterhole
This combination allows you to enjoy both the exclusivity of Point of View and the vibrant character of the main lodge.
Designed for Meaningful Time
Point of View is ideal for:
– A quiet escape from a busy lifestyle
– A final highlight at the end of your Namibia journey
– Creative retreats (writing, photography, painting)
– Remote work in inspiring surroundings
Recommended stay: 2–3 nights
