Luxury Extension on the Farm
A splendid conclusion awaits you with 2 days and 2 nights at our new 4-star Mini-Luxury Lodge, “Point of View,” located 11 km away from the main farmhouse. This includes a total of 8 hours of riding, divided into morning and afternoon sessions, with beautiful galloping stretches and wildlife sightings. You can also opt for a Game Drive instead of 2 hours of riding or in addition to it. The package includes

• overnight stay with dinner (3 courses) and breakfast,
• access to the pool,
• WLAN,
• return transfer to the farmhouse.

The cost per day, all-inclusive, is €349.00 per person, with a minimum of 2 days. Extension is possible.

Swakopmund Package
For the Swakopmund Package, we provide only indicative prices since we are not aware of your desired length of stay and the activities you’d like to choose from the menu. Moreover, as of today (25th June 2023), we have prices for the activities available only for the year 2023. As an example, for 4 days and 4 nights, the package includes

• 3 activities with pick-up and drop-off directly at the apartment,
• self-catering accommodation, and
• all transfers, including Farm-Swakopmund and Swakopmund-International Airport.

Total Package Costs:
For 2 persons: €464.00 per person
For one person: €538.00

The following activities are included in the price:

• Dolphin Sea-Cruise (approx. 3.5 hours) – €59.00
• Living Desert Adventure (3 hours) – €45.00
• Beach Ride (2 hours) – €149.00

Additional activities (at an extra cost) that can be added or chosen alternatively:

• Full Day: Sandwich Harbor and Dolphin Cruise (8 hours) – €144.00

General Information:

Accommodation in Swakopmund: Düsternbrooks Ferienwohnung in Swakopmund provides fully furnished apartments with towels, bedding, kitchen, dishes, stove, refrigerator, WLAN, and final cleaning included. The apartments are centrally located, and everything is within walking distance: for example, the beach is 5 minutes away, the supermarket is 5 minutes away, and the city center is 10 minutes away. Extensions in Swakopmund or upgrades to a hotel are also possible.

Transfers: We use a transportation company that operates minibusses. Upon request, private transfers are also available.

Horses & Riding: At Düsternbrook, we have sure-footed and calm ponies and small horses. From fiery Arabians to relaxed Quarterhorse-mixes and composed local breeds, there is a suitable horse for every rider. The horses are ridden in classic English style, and you’ll use comfortable trail saddles during the Riding Safaris.

In Swakopmund, a colorful herd awaits, including clever ponies and well-trained large horses. All horses are well taken care of and treated like family members – you can feel it. The horses are consistently balanced and eager to work. The horses are ridden in classic English style, and for the rides, there are trail saddles available.

Further travel in Namibia?
Both from the farm and Swakopmund, it is easy to embark on further travels in Namibia with a rental car.

Airlines: Currently, Euro Wings offers non-stop flights from Frankfurt to Windhoek. Ethiopian Airlines flies from Frankfurt to Addis Ababa and then to Windhoek (usually more affordable). Qatar Airways flies via Qatar.

Partners = Non-Riders?
Even for non-riders, a stay at Düsternbrook is very appealing. During the rides, there is plenty of time for relaxation by the pool, walks, and/or participating in various activities such as wildlife observation drives (Cats Unlimited, Game Drive, Early Mountain Drive, Sky Unlimited, Beginner Rides). Moreover, there are four well-marked hiking trails available. The overnight stay in the bush camp can also be arranged for non-riders.

Where is Düsternbrook Safari Guest Farm located?
Düsternbrook has an excellent location, just 90 km (1.5 hours) from the International Airport and 50 km from the capital Windhoek.

For Self-Drivers:
GPS Coordinates: S-22.26934000; E 16.90074000 Directions from Windhoek: Take the A1/B1 road leading north from Windhoek, then after 30 km, take the D1499/Okapuka exit. After the exit, there is a brown sign indicating the direction to Düsternbrook. Turn left onto D1499, and after 18 km, well-signposted, you will arrive at the farm.
