Update on Activities at Düsternbrook Safari Guest Farm
Dear Partners and Guests,
Following regulatory changes introduced by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, certain activities involving large carnivores are no longer permitted in their previous form.
As a result, leopard and cheetah enclosure visits have been discontinued as of 16 January 2026.
Over the past 35 years, these experiences were a unique part of Düsternbrook, and we are proud of the high standards and safety record we maintained throughout.
At the same time, we have used this transition to further develop and refine our activity portfolio.
We are pleased to introduce our premium experience: Sky Unlimited.
This extended game drive combines excellent wildlife viewing with a scenic ascent into the Khomas Highlands, culminating in a spectacular 360° panoramic viewpoint and sundowner experience.
In addition:
- Our Classic Game Drive has been extended to approx. 2 hours (morning and afternoon departures)
- Early morning panoramic drives are no longer offered as a standard activity (available on request)
- Horse safaris and other activities remain unchanged
Düsternbrook continues to offer a diverse and authentic nature experience, combining wildlife, landscape and tranquility within easy reach of Windhoek.
We thank you for your continued support and look forward to welcoming your guests.
Kind regards,
Johann Vaatz
