Düsternbrook Guest Farm/ Lodge near Windhoek is open year-round not only for overnight guests but also for day visitors. We offer you an attractive, varied, and interesting combination of activities for a few hours. However, you can easily spend a whole day here.

Activities for our day visitors
Apart from the activities mentioned, Düsternbrook Guest Farm offers three complete packages for day visitors. You can also eat at our place, but please tell us in advance if you wish to do so.

• Package 1: "Cats Unlimited": A very exciting leopard and cheetah drive, which takes approximately 60 to 70 minutes. Here you can take excellent photos as the distance to the cats will be only 10 to 15 meters. Departure time 14.30 (april until september); 15.30 (september until april)

• Package 2: "Düsternbrook Experience": First the Cats Unlimited tour and afterwards at 16.00 (winter) or 17.00 (summer) a game drive for plains game. This activity takes approximately 2.5h. In between the activities you can enjoy the family atmoshere, the historic ambience, swim in the pool or just sit, relax and have a drink at our bar. We also serve sandwiches with home-baked bread.
  

• Package 3: "Mountain Zebra Drive": In the early morning you start for the Khomas Highland mountains with the possibility of seeing the Hartmann mountain zebra as well as other game such as oryx, kudu, klipspringer, steenbok and chacma baboon. The Hartmann mountain zebra is endemic to Namibia and its preferred habitat is the mountains.The whole trip takes about 1.5h to 2h.

Please note: Package 2 is included in the price for the accommodation. If you book more than one night, package 3 is also included.

Time table: In winter (april to september) the Cheetah and Leopard Drive starts at 14.30 and the game drive at 16.00. Lunch is at 13.00 and dinner at 19.00. In summer (october to march) the Cheetah and Leopard Drive starts at 15.30 and the game drive at 17.00. Lunch is at 13.00 and dinner at 20.00.

Additionally

• horse-riding with viewing of game such as giraffe, kudu, oryx, zebra, and many others (please book a day in advance)
• walking: We have different well-marked walks from 1 hour to 4 hours where you also can see wildlife including our rich birdlife
• take a swim in our swimming pool or relax on our sun beds around the pool and get a tan!
• special tours for photographers (amateur and professionals), please please contact us in advance, stating your precise wishes.
  

• We can arrange transfers from the International Airport (90km) or Windhoek (50km) to Düsternbrook Guest Farm and back.
