Camping in Namibia at Düsternbrook
For campers we offer two different campsites. The "old" campsite is fenced but it has 3 x lightpoints and 3 plugs 24/7 (no noise), there are tables and moveable as well as fixed braai areas. The area is sandy but a lot of shade palms and other trees. Outside the fenced is the abolution bloc ( toilet and showers ) seperate for ladies and gents.
Camping in Namibian nature
New, since nov 2010, we have an extended campsite along the river bed with a beautiful view into the surrounding nature. The sites are further apart from each other, about 50 to 60 m, and have to use the same abolution bloc. The sites furthest away have a own "bush" shower and toilet. There is no electricity or any light points.We offer either a camping package including DBB and the cheetah and leopard
drive as well as the game drive , or selfcatering and you can do whatever
( the drives, dinner, breakfastetc. individually ).
On the fenced campsite you have 24-hr 220 V electricity and warm water. (No
noisy generator at night).
New: At a dam 3 km from the farmhouse is a chalet, the Hippo chalet,
this is wooden house with two beds, table, a small bath room and a little
balcony with a view over the dam. In the dam are since sep 2010 3 x Hippo
which come out after sunset when we still feed them after the game drive.
At the dam are also water birds and game come regular to drink. This Hippo
chalet we offer as fully inclusive dbb and the two activities or as selfcatering
unit.
Please note: As we don't want to create a baboon problem we kindly
ask you to take out anything you bring into the campsite to your next (city)stop,
including your garbage. We have never had a baboon problem and we ask you
to keep it that way. Thank you for your cooperation.
