Game drive

Our popular Game Drive takes place late afternoon, when the sun is not so hot, and there is more opportunity to spot game as the animals come out from their shelters to look for food and water. Our drives are very scenic and you will have plenty of opportunities to take photographs, or watch the game through binoculars.

There are a wide variety of animals that you may see, sometimes from a great distance (giraffes are very distinctive on the horizon!), and sometimes within feet of the vehicle. Some of our favourites are; Giraffe, Blue Wildebeest, Kudu, Red Hartebeest, Steenbok, Warthog, Impala, Ostrich, and various Hornbills. If you are very lucky you may even see the White Rhino in the setting sun.

Morning Mountain Drive

The Mountain Drive sets off before breakfast, heading steeply up into the Khomas Hochland for the opportunity of seeing the wildlife that prefer the shelter and safety of the mountains, as well as stunning views of the rolling hills and sweeping green valleys. Look out for Oryx, Kudu, Steenbok, Common Duiker, Klipspringer, Waterbuck, Baboons, Jackals, amongst others, and in particular the elusive Hartmann's Mountain Zebra. Your journey ends with a descent from the mountains, and a gentle drive along the riverbed, reaching the Main House in time for a relaxing breakfast on the veranda (if you have booked this).
